Mission Statement

The Central Norfolk Methodist Circuit Mission Statement

Our mission is to be the people of God in our churches and wider communities:

  • listening, caring, serving and sharing;
  • kind and respectful;
  • inclusive and welcoming,

so that by some means, all may have the opportunity to encounter the living God.

We will seek to do this by:

  • offering effective pastoral care to those who would welcome the support we give, whether they be people of faith or not.
  • looking for individual opportunities to serve others within the communities in which we live.
  • sharing the love of God with others and being a good neighbour.
  • receiving all whom we encounter without judgement, whilst sharing who we are and whose we are.

Our missional priorities are to:

  1. work towards the best pastoral care that we can offer.
  2. share the gospel message wherever we are.
  3. develop our understanding of justice, dignity and solidarity in line with the nationwide programme of the Methodist Church in Britain.
  4. manage our buildings away from closure, towards new missional projects.

We will endeavour to do all this whilst continuing to:

  1. support varied and enriching worship in each of the churches in the Circuit.
  2. value and care for our Ministers, volunteers and employees.
  3. offer training opportunities to equip those in positions of leadership.
  4. engage with our ecumenical partners.
  5. maintain our properties to the highest standards of safety and welcome.
  6. ensure that our fiscal resources are managed effectively and for the fulfilment of our mission.
  7. meet all the statutory requirements that have been placed on us as a registered charity.
